A couple of months ago, when I started posting creative writing here on my blog, I learned about something called National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short. The idea is to use the month of November to focus and write a 50,000 word novel. I thought that it sounded really cool and wanted to participate when November rolled around.
Now that November is right around the corner, I was a bit concerned. With next month being a generally busy month (Thanksgiving, My Anniversary, and Daughters Baptism), I was less excited about it and wasn’t sure if I would be able to meet the word count. While it still interested me, I didn’t want to set myself up to fail.
While hopping around the web keeping up with a couple of blogs, I came across a post from NewToWritingGirl making mention that she has signed up again this year. After leaving a comment, I got a response that helped me make up my mind on participating.
As of this morning, I’m signed up with plans on participating. I think that my 50,000 words are going to be a reworking of my Memoirs of an Assassin serial. Since it has stalled due to lack of free time, I want to force myself to complete it in novel form.
Wish me luck, I think I’m going to need it.

Yay, I’m so glad you signed up (and that I may have helped that decision). I’ve added you as a buddy. However I am even more excited that you’re going to be doing MoA! I just hope you get it published, I can’t wait to read it š
Good luck Walt, i think that using Memoirs of an Assassin is a great idea. I think you will do very well and i can’t wait to read it as a novel.
