Several months ago I was sitting down in the Stowe Archers Clubhouse attending one of our monthly membership meetings. The club was in a lull, stuck between our busy Outdoor 3D Season and the fast approaching Indoor 3D Season, when the subject of Winter Leagues were brought up.
The club was in a bind since there was no one to run the Indoor 450 Spot League. I offered my time with one big stipulation. I was happy to run the league but I would only do it if I received help. I had no interest in being so busy that I was unable to participate in shooting.
The Vice-President at the time offered to lend me a hand and the matter was settled. A short time later and I was buried in paperwork, doing my best to run the league the way I felt it should be run. This meant coming home after a night of shooting and losing sleep to get the scores tabulated and posted on the club website. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to do it, it just became more work than I originally anticipated.
The 450 League progressed over the winter and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, myself included. When it was time to shoot the final week, I thought it would be fun to do things a little differently than they were done in the past.
In addition to shooting a tournament where the winner moved on and the loser went home, I thought it would be fun to gather video. I took that video and posted it on the club website to allow people to see themselves shoot as well as generate some interest in the league the following year.
The final product came out pretty good – if I don’t say so myself. I’ve embedded the video for the final round down below. For a full writeup and all of the video that goes along with the 2015 Stowe Archers 450 League – Check out StoweArchers.com
