Right before Halloween, we had ourselves a little party for the kids after our Monday Night Youth Program. One of the parents baked cupcakes and brought in all sorts of goodies – including Halloween Themed Targets
.
At the end of the night, the kids were all sugared up and on their way home. It was a fantastic time and I was proud to have one of our members take it upon themselves to do something so nice for the kids.
With Natalie looking for ideas for her next video, I suggested maybe we have ourselves a little Halloween Archery Challenge. It was a day or so after Halloween by why let all of those cool targets go to waste?
The game was pretty simple. We would both shoot at a Mummy Target and race to scoring 300 Points. Natalie’s target was situated at 5 Yards and mine was set at 20 yards. Arrows scored the point value inside the “Bug”. Any hit on the target, outside of a bug, scored 20 points.
In retrospect, I should have made it so that I didn’t get any points for missing a bug. The game was over in three ends and Natalie seemed a little disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like to let me kids win because they are kids but I do want it to be a challenge for the both of us.
Looking for More on Archery
WaltInPA has launched a new Archery Website entitled Archery Compass. We aim to be a source of information to archers of all ages and experience levels, and we would love it if you would take a minute to check it out!
