Over the last couple of weeks I’ve gone on a blogging tear. I managed to post every day for about two weeks. My meager visitor stats were slowly growing and it was nice to see people reading what I had to say.
Despite the small uptick in website views, comments remained low. In fact, there was a small rise in the initial wave of posts but that quickly subsided. One of the most fun aspects of blogging is interacting with readers. What is the fun of telling a story if we can’t talk about it afterwards?
In an effort to try and make leaving a comment more appealing, I’ve installed a plugin called Comment Luv. I had it installed here years ago but wound up ditching it when I changed the design a while back. Basically, the plugin uses the website url you provide (in the comment box) to pull a list of recent posts from the website you choose. You can then select one of those posts to feature below your comment.
In addition to becoming part of the discussion (or creating the discussion), you get a little free advertisement in the process. Using the feature is optional, if you’d prefer not to include a blog post or if you don’t have a blog.
