This weekend Stowe Archers was holding our monthly Outdoor 3D Shoot. Things have been kind of crazy at home with the new baby and I wasn’t able to make it out and lend a hand with setup. When I came across some downtime yesterday I decided to run over to the club and range the targets (I like to have a reference of targets and distances for each month).
I looked over at my daughter and asked “Hey, I have to go to the archery club for a little bit. Do you want to go with me?” Her eyes lit up and she raced off to put on her shoes. Once situated, we packed her little pink compound bow into the car and we were on our way.
We spent about two and a half hours in the woods together. She would shoot and I just stood back and watched with pride. She doesn’t get out to shoot nearly as often as she would like – I blame myself. I spend so much time working at the club that I rarely get to go out and enjoy myself while I’m there.
I need to do a better job of finding the time to get out and shoot. Quality time spent with my daughter in the woods is precious and I’d hate to miss out on it.

Aw, it looks like you guys had a great time! Time with your little ones outside and surrounded by nature is so valuable. I’m glad to hear you both enjoyed yourselves!
We set up an archery target in our backyard. Every person in the house (three teenage kids) shoot a bow. We have two compound bow and three traditional recurve shooters. It is a great way to enjoy time with the family.
We started doing 3D shooting last year and enjoy it. It is nice to walk and shoot in the woods.
