Episode 11 of the Slimming Down Dad Podcast will go down in my memory as the episode that almost never was. I’ve been battling some personal issues over the past two weeks and for the first time ever, I just couldn’t motivate myself to sit down and record an episode.
On Thursday I tried to force it and fired up the recorder. After a 15 minute pity party and trying to dance around specifics, I closed my laptop and walked away. For the first time, Slimming Down Dad was not published on time and that really bummed me out.
Feeling a bit better this morning, I sat down and gave it another shot. I talked about some of the struggles I’ve been having recently and genuinely felt better. In all of this, exercise has been my quiet time. It has been a way for me to get out of my own head and focus on running that next mile or pushing that loaded barbell.
Before closing out the episode I talked about my biggest loss in recent memory, not recognizing myself in photos, and my need for dietary change to boost energy. I also invite you to join our small community for the Slimming Dad 10K Virtual Fun Run.
