Yesterday I kicked off what I’m affectionally calling my Weight Loss Journal: The October Project. In a nutshell, it is a month long process of avoiding the scale, eating a bit more, and judging progress based on how I feel as well as what I see in the mirror.
I’m only two days into the process but, so far so good. After a two-hour gym session yesterday, I ate like a man on a mission. By the end of the night I had logged 2,917 calories (with 1,767 being exercise calories). Ordinarily I would feel tremendously guilty about consuming that much but according to MyFitnessPal I still managed to stay under my goal by 650 calories.
My Macro Breakdown wasn’t on track like I had planned but it wound up being 49% Carbs, 21% Fat, and 30% Protein. I logged more protein than I have in recent memory with 219 grams so I’m going to consider that a win.
On a side note, it is amazing how much food contains carbohydrates. For dinner I made some 15 Bean Soup with Smoked Turkey Sausage. While it contains 24.2 grams of protein per serving, it also contains 50.6 grams of carbs and 6.4 grams of fat (367 calories per cup). Not that all carbs are bad, mind you, it just makes it tough to keep the ratio in check.
